On 6 December 2023, a signing ceremony of the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Botswana took place in New York.
A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was signed by Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, and Dr. Lemogang Kwape, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Botswana.
The establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Botswana will contribute to further development of bilateral relations.
