Anticipated Karate competition to cause a sensation at The World Games
The Karate competition at The World Games is ready to begin. A hectic day of preparations put the Karate event all set up to become one of the sensations of The World Games 2022.
No less than 94 athletes from 41 countries are registered to participate in the Karate tournament of The World Games 2022. The final day before the start of the competition was filled with events to ensure that the Karate competition will be a success.
The officials opened the day of meetings with a gathering to review the final details of the refereeing aspects of the competition. The Referee briefing was chaired by WKF Referee Commission chairman Javier Escalante and had WKF President Antonio Espinós, WKF CEO Sara Wolff, and WKF Secretary General Toshihisa Nagura in attendance.
After the weigh-in of the competitors of the Kumite categories, and with the set-up of the magnificent Bill Battle Coliseum sports hall finalised, the referees and athletes did the venue familiarization to get to know the particularities of the field of play.
The coach meeting and the competition draw completed the hectic day as athletes got to know their pools, the matches, and the road they need to follow to claim the medals of the event. Chaired by WKF Organising Commission chairman Esteban Perez, the meeting had the participation of WKF President Antonio Espinós, WKF Secretary General Toshihisa Nagura, WKF Referee Commission chairman Javier Escalante, and WKF CEO Sara Wolff.
